Freedom Groups

What Are Freedom Groups?

Freedom Groups have one simple purpose: to bring people together. We believe God created us to live in relationship with others and only then can we live the full life He intends for us. Freedom Groups are small groups designed to create community within our church family and help lead everyone to take their next step in their relationship with God as we Eat Together, Play Together, Pray Together, and Grow Together. Sharing life through community is part of our design, but meaningful relationships aren’t always easy to find.  Freedom groups are our vehicle for building relationships and fostering spiritual growth – and we like to have fun, too!

How Can I Join A Freedom Group?

You can join a Freedom Group by browsing our directory below, finding a group that fits your interests and needs, and contacting a Freedom Group leader!

Leading a Small Group

Leading a small group isn’t about being perfect; it’s about serving others by giving them a place to connect. Hosting a group is simple—choose a topic that interests you and select a time and location to meet with others to share it. We give you essential tools to make your small group successful through Leadership Training and a directory where you can register your group, so others can find it easily. We believe people’s lives are changed one semester at a time by moving one step toward Christ, and as a small group leader, you get to play an important role in that process.

THE MIRACLES OF JESUS | MORE THAN HIS GOD CARD (by Brian Onken)
Join us each Wednesday night at 6:30 pm as we live together “in the Word.” There are two goals for this group.  First, to encourage us to pay attention to the pages of scripture so we can become better readers of the Gospels. Second, to help us think well about what Jesus reveals to us about Himself through the miracles He did. We will use the book More Than His God Card by Brian Onken as a guide while reading the Gospels together.

Needless Casualties of War

Prayer is a powerful weapon, a two-edged sword, not to be wielded carelessly. Although we have authority as the children of God, how we fight can determine our personal consequences in the battle of the millennium. In this timely book, John Paul Jackson reveals some startling insights that will uncover spiritual strategies of the dark side. Find out how you can protect yourself from Satan’s onslaught and escape his unforeseen and unperceived attacks.

Men

Redemption: A Journey From Sinner to Saint – Johnny Cash

Men, let’s get together for a meal (the easy part) and talk (the not so easy part). We’ll talk about “The Man in Black” – Johnny Cash. He was a walking, talking contradiction who identified with the Apostle Peter—often ashamed and lacking the courage to stand up for Christ—in the first half of his life. He was a devout Christian who divided his time between sinning and seeking forgiveness, frequently going from jail to Jesus. His story will help us look at God’s redemptive ability in the life a real person, warts and all. What we will discover together is God’s ability to complete the work that He has started in our lives. God Almighty is in the business of saving flawed saints. Just like them, God will get us where He wants us to be. It may take a lifetime, but it will happen. Trust Him.

Prayer

Prayer  Group

What is Prayer?
Prayer is a conversation with God. It is simply telling God what is on your heart and listening for His response and insights. Know that everyone prays differently and the differences are good.
Reasons for joining our group:
If you want to increase your prayer life, draw closer to God, and/or be a blessing to our church, this would be a good place for you.
Our group is a safe place to see and hear people petitioning and praising God and waiting upon Him. You don’t have to pray out loud. We hope you grow into praying out loud as one person’s audible prayer often ignites the Spirit in others.
When and where do we meet? Each Sunday, 30 minutes before service, we meet to pray over the service, the prayer requests of our membership, Israel, and any other issues the Lord lays on our hearts. Every other Thursday morning at 6:30am we meet at a restaurant to pray.

Thursday Morning Prayer

We’d love to invite you to join us on Thursday mornings to start your day in prayer. We’ll be meeting at the Freedom Church building for roughly 45 minutes of prayer together (though if you need to leave early to head to work, we still would encourage you to join in and participate).
We’ll fellowship together, share personal requests and leadings, and pray for one another, our city, nation, and beyond. I’m excited to see how focused and collective prayer will impact the lives of each of us and our broader body of believers as we seek Jesus together.

Service

#servemauldin Planning Group

Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. 1 Timothy 6:18
Serving others through simple acts of kindness is an outward expression of our love for God and for man. Serving has the ability to open the hearts of those being served and those serving to the love of Jesus. Freedom Church has an ongoing initiative to #servemauldin in order to open doors to share the gospel. On the first Wednesday of every month from 6:30-8:00pm we will enjoy a bring-your-own-meal, pray, brainstorm, and make logistical plans for our church-wide #servemauldin projects.
