21 Days of Prayer: Day 16

As we begin praying through the Lord’s Prayer, we must remember three things. First, Jesus was saying when I pray these are the kinds of things I pray about.  He wasn’t telling them to repeat the words. Second, all of these are requests. Third, this is not a “me” prayer, but an “us” prayer. Give us. Forgive us. Lead us. For the next seven days we will pray about the kinds of things Jesus prayed about.

Luke 11 New American Standard Bible 1995

11 It happened that while [a]Jesus was praying in a certain place, after He had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray just as John also taught his disciples.” And He said to them, “When you pray, say:

[b]Father, hallowed be Your name.

Father, would You help us to hallow your name?  Would you stagger us with who you are?  Would you “show off” so that people will see how awesome you really are? Would you make yourself amazing, glorious and outstanding, In our families, in our churches, in our city, in our nation and in this world!

(Pray for your friend.)
